New program simplifies billing for RCMP, CAF and VAC members.
Direct-to-home retailer Healthwick has announced the launch of direct billing for members of Medavie Blue Cross today. This new Healthwick service allows members, including those from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Canadian Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs Canada, to receive their incontinence and home healthcare supplies via the mail, with bills going directly to Medavie Blue Cross.
Medavie Blue Cross is a non-profit medical care insurance company headquartered in Moncton, New Brunswick, which administers health care benefits and services on behalf of both private and government clients, including the RCMP, CAF and VAC.
“We’re proud to introduce direct billing for Medavie Blue Cross’s members,” says Sharron Jones, Healthwick’s Marketing and Customer Care Director. “We know that paying out-of-pocket and waiting for reimbursement can be difficult, especially for incontinence and catheter supplies which can run hundreds of dollars a month. We hope to make the process far easier by offering free direct billing services for Healthwick customers with Medavie Blue Cross coverage.”
Through Healthwick’s Direct Billing program, eligible members have access to Canada’s largest selection of incontinence products, as well as catheter, ostomy, and skincare items. All items are shipped via Canada Post and generally arrive at the member’s home in one to two business days, with next day delivery in some areas of Ontario.
“Currently, many Medavie Blue Cross members are going to their local pharmacies and getting frustrated with the lack of selection available to them, or by the inconvenience of having to carry home large, bulky packages,” says Jones, “We aim to give members the best selection of products to choose from and a more convenient way to receive them, which we think helps to give them a better quality of life.”
Members of Medavie Blue Cross can learn more or enroll in the Healthwick ODSP Direct Billing program online.
