In today’s market, most plastic-back briefs are being phased out in favour of cloth-like exteriors. Cloth-like backings are often quieter, softer and therefore more discreet. The cloth-like material also allows for breathability for better skin health.
That said, there are still many people who prefer plastic-backed adult diapers. Those who opt for a plastic-backed option usually believe that they offer superior protection against leaks and odours when compared to cloth-like briefs, or they simply prefer the look and/or feel of the plastic backing.
Healthwick proudly carries Canada’s largest selection of adult incontinence products, allowing us to offer our shoppers a wide selection of plastic-backed adult diapers. Here’s a look at 5 of our best selling adult diapers that feature a plastic backing.
Since the addition of NorthShore Care to Healthwick.ca in late 2020, the MEGAMAX has quickly grown to be the preferred choice for many shoppers. The smooth, poly-plastic exterior is strong and durable. This brief is known for its near limitless capacity, allowing up to 12 hours of continuous wear. NorthShore’s improved sizing allows for a better fit to prevent leaks and odours. Plus, this adult diaper is available in a variety of colour options including white, blue, pink, black and tie-dye. These briefs also feature Tranquility’s patented “Peach Mat” which guarantees skin dryness, odour control, inhibition of bacterial growth, and neutralization of urine for properly balanced skin. These briefs are also available in a wide selection of sizes, including youth sizing. The latex-free composition makes this brief a good option for those with latex allergies or sensitive skin.
Feel safe, secure and confident with ConfiDry 24/7 adult diapers. These briefs are plastic-backed and ideal for heavy incontinence and maximum protection. With outstanding absorbency, ConfiDry 24/7 briefs offer up to 12 hours of wear to help ensure an undisturbed night. Although these briefs are plastic-backed, they have a comfortable and soft lining that allows for movement without chafing.
These adult diapers from Abena are one of Canada’s best selling specialty briefs. The plastic-backing helps to minimize the risk of leaks and reduce odours. An ideal product for those managing heavy to maximum urinary or bowel incontinence, these adult diapers can hold up to 4L of liquid. They are a great option for extended daytime or overnight use.
These briefs from Rearz offer an outrageous absorbency range of 4800 to 5300mL. The plastic-backing is smooth and helps to prevent leaks and minimize unwanted odours. The stretchy waistband in the front and back and high leg guards work to better contain leaks. This product is also latex-free, making it a good choice for those with latex allergies or sensitive skin.

I’m surprised your top 5 ish were actually good, but take ATN off the list. They’re not even in the same realm as the other 4. Molicare slip Maxis would be a good substitute.

I presently use the tranquility through the night diapers even during the day
I do wear a panty girdle, but it’s not too hide any noise from the plastic shell. I just like everything well fitted.
The mega max by Northshore is also a Wonderfull full diaper
It has a full landing zone for the tabs so if you use a liner you can use that diaper over and over and just replace the liner
But it’s great to have the extra security if the liner was over extended

Tranquility ATN has the best performance to price, just wear a diaper cover to muffle to plastic

North Shore mega max diapers are excellent. They are comfortable and fit just right. I have excellent landing strips to put the tape on. They really absorb a lot you can go for a full 10 hours with no worries. You can even go without wearing plastic pants over the diaper if you don’t need them just a pair of oversize underwear will work. Or you can go with plastic pants to keep them in place a little better. I use these almost exclusively now for over active bladder day and night. Excellent diapers
