Pelvic Floor Incontinence Physiotherapy Now Provided in Downtown Toronto

Ace Physio is now providing Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy for the 1 in 4 Canadian females and 1 in 9 Canadian males suffer from urinary incontinence.

Urinary incontinence (“UI”) is defined as any involuntary leakage of urine. UI is not a topic openly discussed in our society because it is believed that there is no real solution to this condition or perhaps for some people it is just too embarrassing for words.

The good news is that, as with all muscles, the pelvic floor can be strengthened and rehabilitated. Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy is focused on exactly this — strengthening the pelvic floor and restoring functionality. In fact Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy is the first line of healthcare defense (according to the 2012 Canadian Urological Association Guidelines).

There are several risk factors that may contribute to pelvic floor dysfunction. These include; pregnancy, obesity, menopause, urinary tract infection, surgeries such as prostatectomy or hysterectomy, certain medications, and other neurological or musculoskeletal conditions.

Ace Physio is specifically focused on providing therapy services to help clients participate in their daily activities comfortably. These experts fully understand the structural working of the body and they are dedicated to ensure that patients walk out far better than they came in.
