The Maxi-Slip had leakage issues, this (Ultima) no longer seems to have that problem.
Perhaps it's the extra absorbency or a material change, but it's much better, more comfortable and holds more than enough without leaking through the plastic backing.
It will bulk up more than one likes but that's much better than worrying about leaks.
I think it's also pretty good at neutralizing any smell as well.
The tapes are generally quite sticky but don't pull too hard or you could rip the plastic if you have a tighter fit.
If you're hesitant about plastic backed, give it a try because you'll be more confident if you have less concerns about leakage, sag or smell. No one will hear it anyways.
I'd love to see the price much lower but I'd suggest you buy a pack of these and have one in your bag as an alternate go to.
So if you want something thinner / less bulky and still has good absorbency, this is one to add to your list.
