First of all, I am pleased with this product. For those of us who have had cancer and operations that require overnight underwear, this is a very good alternative to all the absorbent products and under pads. After 5 years of having to use overnight underwear, I was suffering from serious rashes that became very uncomfortable and hard to manage. (I have a neo-bladder from a section of my small intestine with all the accompanying fluids besides the normal urine output.) After a week of using the Coloplast external catheter the rash abated and was gone a few weeks later, to my great relief, not to mention the end of all the accompanying odour as well. I can now travel overnight with peace of mind also.
Now make sure you read and do all the instructions that come with the product, especially the handling of pubic hairs as this product has a robust adhesive for its use. (The website has a valuable video.) There is some discomfort in its removal. You have to "man-up", like I said it has a robust adhesive that has not let me down so far after many months use.
I gave this a 4 stars because the accompanying bag does start to develop an odour after about a weeks re-use. You will need to re-use the bag as much as you can to keep the cost of the whole process reasonable. On the whole, switching to the external catheter system did save me $400 to $500 this year in under pads and underwear alone. I will be using this product for many years to come.
