June is International Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness month!
It’s dedicated to bringing awareness around brain health and early detection of dementia symptoms. Dementia is a condition that affects over 55 million people globally, with over 10 million diagnoses made each year. It generally shows up with age, with formal diagnoses most often occurring later in life around the mid-to-late 60s, often appearing as small, easily missed changes in memory or daily routines.
For some individuals living with Alzheimer’s or dementia, it is common for bladder or bowel incontinence to eventually become part of their care needs. This can happen for many reasons, including difficulty recognizing bathroom urges.

Sizing varies wildly between incontinence brands and does not correlate to regular clothing sizes. Selecting the incorrect size will lead to leaks if it's too loose, or skin irritation if it's too tight. We recommend measuring both the waist and the widest part of the hips and use the larger of the two numbers.

Mobility plays a massive role in product style. If the person is active, then pull ups (underwear) could be a good option. However, if they have limited mobility or struggle with balance, that process can be more challenging. Tab-style diapers allow caregivers to assist with changes easily while the individual is seated or lying down.
